Setting?

The filmmakers seemed bound and determined not to say what state the film was set in, to the point where some of the dialogue seemed a bit awkward. The only clue was in the bar scene where Molly "proposes" very loudly and publicly to Mercedes. One of the guys in the bar was wearing a shirt that said "Iowa" on it. Whether you consider that that indicates where the film is set is up to you.

It was filmed in Iowa and I assume that is meant to be the setting as well.
