Herbert Marcuse - a "political theorist"... Talk about obscure... It's nice when a programme assumes the audience is moderately intelligent. But, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who had to look the bloke up on Wikipedia.

I guess it depends on your age and interests,I am interested in politics and history and am 51 years old so I get this reference but would miss ones on computer games,hip hop or cricket.
He was quoted by villians in an episode of SPECIAL BRANCH,and I went and looked him up in the library.
His ideas were an inspiration for the far left and terror groups like the Red Brigades(ITALY)RED ARMY FACTION(West Germany)and THE ANGRY BRIGADE(UK) he used to go on about repressive tolerence,HE WAS FULL OF ****.
