I know who dies..

Orla. Fact.

reply

I doubt it.

reply

Well, you're wrong.

Michael Kitchen is credited for two episodes as the present day Jack, and since we've already seen everyone else but him and Orla alive in the present day it does seem likely that she dies.

reply

You think I'm conjecturing. I'm not. She dies.

Hi folks. Sorry, I've missed bits. When did we see Orla alive in the present day? The only scenes I've seen in the present day are set at the house after the death.

reply

Only in the DVD that they found in the house, which was recorded at her retirement party. I was amazed to see that, after being very overweight for 30 years, she had become quite slim in middle age! With most people it's the other way round :-)

Replying in sequence here. I veered between Jack and Orla but what surprised me was the relative low key ending. We don't know how Orla died presumably something like heart attack etc but I expected a massive revelation when they opened the safe. Yes it was a revelation to the flat mates but not to the viewer we knew most of this. I understand Paula Milne simply trying to tell the story of how relationships either stand the test of time or don't but I did expect some drama! How ironic and sad that Orla died alone when she cared for and looked out for so many others throughout her life.
