First of all, character design is incredible, I loved watching new characters and outfits for Alice, but the gameplay was so damn boring, at first it was fun, but by the Oriental part it was: enter a room, slide, jump a lot to activate something that will make you jump a lot, fight, slide, repeat.

I guess developers noticed it and added some cool levels as the oriental 2D parts an the doll's head" but still it wasn't enough for me.

The difficulty of the game was not about it being hard but putting more enemies at once, a big enemies with annoying wasps, a samurai wasp with annoying worms, etc.

I wanted to love this game and replay it, but I guess it's a one time gameplay althought I'll miss the incredible art direction.

I just finished the game for the second time (on nightmare difficulty). While I agree that when I played the game for the first time (when it was released) the game felt lengthy and tedius, but that was probably because I was more interested with the storyline and the game is not paced properly for it.

But now, after playing it for the second time, I feel that the game is almost perfect. The gameplay was a lot more fun when you are not playing for the story. Playing one chapter at a time looking for all those missing treasures and trophies was a lot more fun than I have had with any recently released games.

Though, I felt that if the game would have been designed like a zelda game (open world with new items unlocking new paths) the game would have been so much better. But that is open for debate.

Totally agree. I didn't even make it past the first level before I became annoyed with platform jumping and swarms of bees. I just watched the cutscenes on youtube and some play-through so I could see the story and the amazing design/characters/levels. AND THE HAIR! Wow, I've never seen a game with long flowing hair, gorgeous! The dresses and ribbons, so pretty! Everything was done so creatively and I loved the butterfly dodge, so pretty! Wow, this game was gorrrgeeouuss and so original, too bad the gameplay was soo annoying :(.
