The Best Aussie Movie in A Long Time

Wow l have not laughed and cried so much watching a movie in so long. This was brilliant and the actors should all be commended on the work they did. Shane Jacobson really surprised me and l enjoyed and his on screen wife Sacha Horler the most, all the cast was wonderful. l can only hope the real miners had this sort of friendship down there for the 15 day. Though probably not. Thankyou for making a wonderful movie that will want to watch over again.

great movie

Lachy Hulme as the stoic Todd and Shane Jacobson's larrikan Brant; tension filled claustrophobia; hilarious repoire between the two going crazy; tragedy; and even current leader of the Opposition, Bill Shorten!

I didnt know what that whole journalist plotline was, while watching it. It was only when he passed away, that it was realised it was the great Channel Nine reporter Richard Carleton. His passing only added more to the tension.

9 outta 10.

Same here, it didn't click until he passed away in the film that his character was Richard Carleton. It was great to see Steve Vizard acting also, I had never seen that except for Fast Forward of course.

There were a few moments for me in the film which stood out. Todd freaked out and went berserk and Brant had to calm him down. I felt his panic there, imagining being in the same situation.

There was also the "poo" moment when Brant had to do a number two. I had been wondering about that for some time before the scene came along. Then there was the scene where they are arguing like a married couple and the rescuers can hear them through the pipe. And finally, when Brant loses it and swears like crazy at the guy on the other end of the phone line, over a half-filled bottle of water I think.
