Just found out about this

Stumbled upon this just now. Had no idea another remake was in the works. I loved the books as a child (still kinda do, if I'm honest), and the version with Ian Holm was wonderful. I'm really looking forward to this. Christopher Eccleston as Pod sounds like something that could really work, and Robert Sheehan a very good choice for Spiller. Not sure about Stephen Fry as Mildeye, even though I like him a lot in general, but we'll see.

Same company who made the 1997 one :)

Yikes... That's probably not good though... The 1997 version with John Goodman was awful.

reply

I loved that version.

Really? First person I've heard say that, but to each her/his own, I guess. ;)

I grew up in the 90s so it's very much a film I love :D. Anyway hopefully this film will exceed that one.

A tv series based on this starring Ian Holm was made in the 1990's as well.

That one was great, especially the 'kitchen sink drama under the floorboards' moments =)

I like the 1997 version as well, not just for peagreen's delivery of the line "I don't like milk" but also for Hugh Laurie's character.

That said, I'm looking forward to this one a lot.
