Do you think that Christa kissing Bobby was a prelude to their ensuing romance or do you think it was pure gratitude for saving Mel?

I think Krista and Bobby truly love other and they are each others true north. I think that's the reason both of them can't seem to have a real working relationship with anyone else (that isn't just based on sex).. I also believe Krista is the real reason Bobby left Vancouver and returned home; and feel his reason for leaving Yellowknife to begin with was because he thought she deserved better. His niece Hailey's wedding was fate giving him a push in the right direction..Yes, he now has Connor somewhat in his life but I think they will work through that together too.
So to answer your question, I think the kiss was one from gratitude and relief (that Mel was alive at that point and still is). However, I also think it resurfaced some unsaid feelings and emotions that we should see unfold in season 2.
Well I hope we see those feelings in season 2. Right now I think Krista is being stupid. After she was so relieved (spoiler for season 2, episode 1) when Bobby was alive after the bush fire and then just to say she was so happy they were friends, yuck! I think the writers are dragging things out too much.
I see Krista's point partly because I've been there myself..My boyfriend and I were childhood friends since we were very young (6)..It is very difficult because in the one hand you have this intense chemistry but on the other hand your afraid to lose the one person with knows you better than you know yourself at times..It is a very hard thing to balance and get right..So Krista and Bobby will get there too, just give it time!..With this being a tv series something dramatic will probably happen and everything will be laid out on the table..I would love to hear more about their past (like how they become friends and how they felt being apart from each other) that would explain why it's so hard for them now..I think the writers and cast are doing a great job!.. :)
