We all know the movie is about being eaten up by a soulless industry after completely losing yourself in superficiality. But.. let's just ignore that for a moment and explore the supernatural element to the film. What were the girls? Witches that fed on youth?

In the script one of them was a centuries old witch, in the film they are just regular humans.

shareI definitely got a whole Elizabeth Bathory vibe. I'm not sure they were actually meant to be supernatural or literal vampires/witches, but I think that's what they did. They were trying to absorb her essence through ritual magick.
