Kicked ass. Not as good as dogfights but pretty cool.

sorry I posted this already but since there are only two posts here I thought I'd reply to yours instead since I might actually get a response since some people have an automatic notification if somebody responds to their post.

something I don't understand, this series is from 2010 2011 etc. they interview many vets. take for instance the one about the invasion of france, 1940. they interview a french guy who was there, who had to be at least 18 at the time. so we are looking at his age now as at least 88 years old, yet he looks like he's in his 70's, 80 at the most. the show is full of these guys, I mean how many 88 year old vets from the war are still out there? from 1940? did they get these interviews from some earlier documentary from say 2000? then patch them in to the greatest tank battles show? there is nothing on the net about it. how can some french guy who fought in early 1940 still be alive and doing interviews in 2011? unless he's like 90 and that guy did not look a day over 76 or so.

not complaining I love the show but I just don't understand the ages thing unless they were interviewed way before this show was done.

I do find it amazing that these men even are still around and can give these first hand accounts of their battles. truly the greatest generation

History/Documentary channels sometimes recycle old series under new names (A&E is notorious for doing this), so the only way to check is to record the show on a DVR/VCR and then watch carefully for the copyright year in the credits. This isn't foolproof, however, since the retitled series may have a newer copyright than the original.

The other explanation is that they really are that old; and it could be that, due to natural selection, those people who are still alive have good genes and just look younger than most folks their age. I've seen some people in their 90s who look about 75. One of my great grandmothers lived until just short of her 100th birthday, and she looked about 80.
