age of veterans

something I don't understand, this series is from 2010 2011 etc. they interview many vets. take for instance the one about the invasion of france, 1940. they interview a french guy who was there, who had to be at least 18 at the time. so we are looking at his age now as at least 88 years old, yet he looks like he's in his 70's, 80 at the most. the show is full of these guys, I mean how many 88 year old vets from the war are still out there? from 1940? did they get these interviews from some earlier documentary from say 2000? then patch them in to the greatest tank battles show? there is nothing on the net about it. how can some french guy who fought in early 1940 still be alive and doing interviews in 2011? unless he's like 90 and that guy did not look a day over 76 or so.

As of 2015 there are still thousands of Canadian Vets from WW2 still alive and well. My Grandfather passed away at 96 and he was still very active and strong voiced and clear eyed up til the day he died. It is extremely difficult to judge the age of a lot of older people.

yah my dad is 84 and only looks like he's 72 or so. he still works hard and builds things and reads a ton of books. wish they'd do more tank battles shows. was your grandfather a canadian vet? my dad was in the army in 1952 and was like a week away from going to korea when they signed the peace treaty and ended it. he told me stories that in training, they used to put them in a pit, then fire machine guns over their heads, and ran tanks over them.
