I'm a little bit confused about this part. The movie didn't show that Dawson knew what happened to Amanda's kid. And then when he was shot, it's as if he died there in the street. So how can he make a conscious donation? Or was it something done without his knowledge or verbal consent or something.

shareHe had to have been a registered organ donor. You don't give verbal consent to donate your heart because you're already dead.
shareOf course you can't. What I meant was maybe when he was dying, he might've said something about it, ridiculous as it may sound. But the registered organ donor makes more sense, I think.
