Wrong choice of actors/actresses for Dawson and

Ok so I just started watching this movie I am 10-15 minutes in and I can't stand the fact that the older and the younger versions of the same characters have NOTHING FACIALLY SIMILAR

WTF IS WITH THIS CASTING?

I mean if you're going to pick James Marsden at least pick someone that looks like him!!!!!

I think they should have picked Dave franco...I mean he kind of has a similar look
Luke is nothing like James Marsden
The girls weren't similar either....such a beautiful young girl, completely different facial featured older version

Also to add: The story is SO UNREALISTIC I mean.... The notebook was unrealistic but its cast saved it, a walk to remember was pretty understandable but this *beep* is BULLCRAP.
The girl is WAYYY TO keen...in real life NO GIRL ever tries so hard with a guy especially if she's popular and super pretty.

I came to IMDB just to complain about this. The young Dawson was totally miscast and not very attractive. Are his eyes even the same color as James Marsden's? I don't think so...

I literally came here to say the same thing. I mean it ruins the entire movie because I can't believe the two actors are the same person, such strange casting.

I'm not even 20 minutes into this movie and I can't finish it because there is absolutely no resemblance between the younger and older couple. It's like watching 2 different movies at the same time.

wow you guys think that ruined the movie? did you find it that difficult to remember we are watching the same characters?

perhaps they should have done a Cold Case style face morph from old to young just to let you know who is who?

The casting was horrible with the younger versions looking nothing like the older versions.

So I'm not too sure if this is better or worse, but Paul Walker was originally cast to play Dawson before he tragically passed away. I don't know if the ended up recasting young Dawson or not after they chose Marsden to play older Dawson. Actually, now that I'm watching it again I'm wondering if Paul Walker was cast to play the younger version of Dawson, that may have actually worked!! lol

I don't think so, James Marsden is even younger than Paul, well, he would be, either way the "young" (sorry but he never looked like a teenager either) Dawson had nothing to do either with Paul or James, both actors are (were) way prettier than this Luke guy, he might be handsome, but James is a pretty man, so I'm glad I wasn't the only one who complained about this, I enjoyed the movie, and I think everyone made a good job, but the casting sucked!!
