I think one of the issues with this movie is that it feels like the production is incredibly diluted, as if there's 10mins of good movie that's been stretched into a feature.
I'm impressed at what's been attempted but it looks like not enough input came from outside the project to warn them that where it was heading was not so great.
And when I have understanding of computers, I shall be the supreme being!
I do appreciate what Jay Weisman has attempted in this movie and it's always great when people have the initiative and skill to put things together on a low budget but based purely on the end product, I can't champion this movie in any way.
Some low budget, incompetent capers can end up being unintenionally amusing, such as Troll 2, but Shockwave has somehow managed to just be starkly uninteresting, unfathomly dull and harsh on the eyes.
My biggest issue whilst watching was that I was screaming in my head for it to give me a reason to care. I think perhaps the scrolling writing, that Star Wars had at its opening would have given us the heads up in order to know what was going on.
And when I have understanding of computers, I shall be the supreme being!
Interesting how the user reviewers are by people who saw it supposedly at a screening in New York. The reviews don't mention anything about the the 3D, the acting, sets lighting - only about the themes of the piece and if you look at the user reviews some of the lines sound exactly what the director said in interviews when at the festival.
