the stupid green screen

Why were all the free people filmed infront of green screen?
The filming of the chaplin was green screen scenery of the death row cemetery...ok I can understand that. But the 2 guys with the green screen playground behind them? What would be the purpose of that?
If you didn't notice the green screen effect, in those scenes, look at the outlines of the people-you'll notice it.

That took me out of the movie within the first minute. I am already wanting to turn it off.

I'm not sure it was green-screen. It looks to me more like the way they lit it -- rather than shooting the subject in the open sun, and dealing with squinting and such, they shaded them and then used close-up portrait lighting and filler light from the side -- which creates a visible shift in the tone of the light between the subject and the background.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
