Bryan Singer's Jack the Giant Killer may give an idea of his Excalbur
The trailer's been out for a while now.
It appears to be a solidly unrealistic medieval-ish fantasy like Boorman's Excalibur, without any historical context. Good or bad, that's up to the viewer.
The actor playing Jack unfortunately reminds me of the actor who played Arthur in the Camelot TV series, though he was okay as Beast in X-Men: First Class.
It's too bad this actual Arthurian film isn't moving anytime soon, regardless of the result - how many such films have there been? The list at:

is large, but remove all the Connecticut Yankee, Tristan and Isolde, and Parsifal adaptations and there are not so many left.
