Does Roseanne Barr have mental problems?

In her early days, I don't remember Roseanne being THIS dumb? What happened to her?

"I imagine being violated by one's own father could do that to you."

Roseanne was raped by her father? Wow I never knew that!

She was on the Oprah Winfrey Show a month or so ago and admitted that had never happened. I think she called it a false memory.

"I'm Chickie! Fly Me to Quaalude!"

I think she confused "False memory" with "Slanderous and shameless publicity stunt".

Why should she be the exception?

She had major head trauma when she was younger.

From her wikipedia page:
"At 16, Barr was hit by a car that left her with a traumatic brain injury. Her behavior changed so radically that she was institutionalized for eight months at Utah State Hospital. In 1970 at age 18, Barr left home by telling her parents she was going to visit a friend in Colorado for two weeks, but never returned."

If you look at other actors like Gary Busey, who also had a major head injury, he definitely hasn't gotten any LESS crazy with age. But that said- I think she was looking down right rational/normal in this show compared to a lot of the crazy stuff she did in the 90's.

To most intelligent and informed people she isn't dumb. It is you however who probably is.

In the past, however, she did seem rather ignorant and uninterested in personal growth and the betterment of society. Now she is interested.

If you watch the Utah Pride Festival episode of Roseanne's Nuts, it touches upon Roseanne's accident and terrible injuries and a bit on her childhood in Utah.

Roseanne's Mother said that Roseanne was never the same person again (after the accident).

Roseanne was struck by a car, the hood ornament impaled into the back of her neck/head, and to top it off, the car that struck Roseanne dragged her after she had been hit. It sounds like Roseanne spent quite a bit of time recovering from this accident.

Also, the same episode gives a bit of detail about the family. Growing up poor and Jewish in a conservative Mormon town w/ her brother bullied for being gay and Jewish and her for being an overweight and outspoken female.

Many components from child hood and ongoing life contribute to the people we become, continually grow into being and Roseanne is no different.

I always thought she was eccentric.
