I've seen some resembelences with the first and second renaissance shortfilms from the animatrix.

The next step from the humans will be darken the skies and we all know where that leads us :p

huh? why would anyone want to connect an unconnected film to the fastly aging Matrix films?

Seriously? I take it you didn't watch the animation the OP mentioned. If anything, the animated work for the Matrix have aged less than the 'fastly aging Matrix films.'

As if this film you're defending will age any better or even be remembered 5 years from now. It won't. However, the comparisons are perfectly valid. This film is rather similar to what was done already 10 years ago in the Animatrix.

Yup. Give or take, just a decade later and people eat it up like this is new and such a thought-provoking original film.

I'd personally rather see official Matrix prequels than a sequel to this one.

I wholeheartedly agree. Especially with the little bug like robot they built...that seemed like something straight from the Matrix!

Yeah...if the Wachowski bros (or bro and sis? :p) were to say they helped write this and it was a long before prologue to the Matrix I would have ZERO issues with that.
