To me it's like comparing apples to oranges. The aim of the X Factor is to create a popstar who can sell records. It's based more on the performance aspects as a whole and marketability and that would include stage presence, dancers etc which is why entertaining performers like Wagner, Chico and Jedward get so far cause they are good performers and the public can be entertrained. At the end they get a contract with Simon's label and get their first album etc.
The Voice is about finding an artist. It's a lot more about the learning process. The contestants work in a joint collberative effort with their coaches in order to determine their own style and sound and the kind of album they will make. A lot of the contestants actually write their own songs and have been in the industry for a while whether it's been at singing for holiday camps or even professional gigs. Music is their lives and even if they get booted out they have the experience and exposur to keep them from fading into the dark.
Xfactor is about taking someone who lives an ordinary life ie working as a painter or receptionist the everyday person, and giving them an oppertunity to have everything they dreamed of.
They are both good in their own right their objectives are just slightly different.
