Big hole in the format! Being a star has never been just about the voice...you have to have something "else". All of the contestants could have successfull careers as backing vocalists or session singers but are they STARS? No!!!!!

Some of the singers are still very young and/or hugely inexperienced, they could become stars in time: Aleks (17!), Adam, David.
Some of the more experienced singers could have star quality if they sign up with better producers once the show is finished: Tyler, Bo, Max.

Look at Norma Jean Baker/Marilyn Monroe or Lizzie Grant/Lana del Rey.

maybe even Max if he is part of a band.I don't think he needs to be in a band, but he needs to work his arse off touring and getting in front of the people who would support him, the same way Jason Mraz and now Ed Sheeran have become successful. It wasn't a case of videos or radio that got them a fanbase- it was being known as people who could actually sing and play an instrument live and had a presence onstage. Max has a great voice and musicality, but his personality is still a bit '?' for me.
I wish it were just about the voice but as soon as the judges turn around they start trying to change the contestants and sort of copy X factor. Both shows are fun but not to be taking seriously. My instinct tells me that Aleks has a future as a popstar 'cause of the look, age and nice voice. Bo is good but this is not her first time while Ruth is impressive but needs lots and lots of training to hone her talent. My fave(Lindsey B.) went out in the battle rounds..go figure!
