Harlequin romance formula

woman is a total bitch with issues and excuses for being a bitch, and a wonderful man pursues her to the death no matter how much of an a-hole she is. Every woman's fantasy. UGH... and I'm a woman.

Mostly true, she was a biatch with issues and excuses in the beginning. She's a career oriented person with her sights on a corporate promotion and anyone who gets in her way be damn. She even has a weasel looking, snobbish, self center, conniving corporate boyfriend who seems to fit her perfectly. That is, until she meets a blue collar down to earth guy. Even then, she looks down on him and treats him with contempt. As she gets to know him, she begins to see him differently. The guy begins to pine for her but she's more interested in furthering her career and sticking with her corporate boyfriend. She realizes she has an attraction to him but runs away and then ditches him for a date with her boyfriend; acting like nothing happened. She eventually finds redemption. In a quandary get over whether or not to do the right thing, she chooses to do the right thing; turning down the promotion and getting the guy. I'm not familiar with Harlequin romances but it fits the typical "chick flick" rom-com formula. Girl behaves badly, treats the good guy poorly, but ends up getting the good guy in the end.
