French Accent

This is the part I just couldn't believe. How could anyone just accept that this American kid now had brown eyes and a French accent. When Charlie Parker mentioned the thing about the ears, why didn't the FBI take it seriously at all? Or even say "hmmm, let's look at pictures"?

My theory is this. Jason (the brother) killed the kid or knew how the kid died. Whether or not he told his family, I'm not sure. I believe that the sister didn't know, and the mother didn't know (or at least didn't know for sure) and that's how she was able to pass the lie detector test the first two times - because she honestly did not know. But didn't Jason said "Good Luck" to "Nicholas"/Frederic when they met, to me that was a pretty big sign he knew there was no way this was Nicholas.

Poor kid. Poor kid with three tatoos at the ripe old age of 12.
