Parent of the year!

So a 13 year old boy had tattoos? 3 of em? And you don't know this guy isn't your son after 3 short years? Do some more drugs and smoke another cigarette "Mom". That whole family is a bunch of loonies.

I still believe they pretended and accepted him as Nicholas to hide the fact that they actually killed him or cover it up.

Or maybe they just aren't too bright and also grief is weird and people will go to extraordinary lengths to avoid confronting truth. They probably knew on some level all along but wanted so badly to believe he was really their brother they became irrational and hostile.

I speak from having seen this behavior first hand after my brother got in a car accident and was declared brain dead. My mother, who had a history of mental illness, refused to accept it and even told doctors he talked to her and moved etc multiple times. Each time the hospital had to take it seriously and re-do the evaluations. Eventually they realized she was crazy and they got social workers involved but no one could pierce her denial. She even went so far as to accuse me of killing him after I tried to convince her he was gone. So yeah, human beings are weird. Side note: my mom is also from Texas. I am not.

Honestly I think the FBI Agent is going after the family to cover up and distract from her own humiliation. Interesting how in the interviews they put all the responsibility for identification on the family, even though she never even had an inkling he was an imposter until the private investigator worked hard to convince her.

If you're not very smart and you're grieving and the FBI and State Department hand someone over saying this is your missing kid, you assume they know what they're talking about. The rest is human psychology and the indignities of grief. It's easy to judge if you've never had a loved one ripped from you. The family are the victims here imo.
