Don't Bother (SPOILERS)

Just saw this film at a festival. First and foremost, it is NOT A COMEDY! Indie films are really over using that genre title lately. A few (under 3) funny scenes does not a comedy make. It is a drama, just not a super intense one, about 2 coddled sisters who don't know how to be in relationships. Lizzy plays Sarah, a girl who can't commit to her musician boyfriend of 2 years. She then meets another hipster dude that she really likes and has issues committing to him....hmm...must be rough...2 (hot?) guys are in love with you...what a tragedy! oh, i'm sorry, and you don't know why they love her. There is no back story and she is not a nice, enjoyable person to be with, so, really, what is the attraction. Oh, she can draw (is that enough?) Oh, and she didn't finish college and doesn't believe in marriage. Is this really that rare nowadays? Especially in California? The writer apparently thinks we are still in the 90s because no one cares that much anymore because people like that are a dime a dozen.
Her sister played by Brie is engaged to a touring musician (yet, we are suppose to pretend that LIzzy's character has some deep pressure to follow society's rules) and Brie is obsessed with the wedding plans. Big surprise! It is the most overused aspect of women and seems improbable given the guy she is marrying. Then suddenly she doesn't care about a wedding (girls like that always care) so they prolong it. Wait? What? Wouldn't you just go to city hall if you suddenly don't care about a wedding???
Other warnings for the viewer: it is shot super intimately and it gets really really uncomfortable after a while. imagine watching a make out session where you see the saliva....
If this is what you are into, by all means see the film, and you can be super indie film hipster about it. But, I would't pay the ticket price. Save it for netflix instant, which is where it belongs.

Thanks for the review mate.

But what do you mean when you say "super intimately"?

I just watched and found it really funny in places. very poignant in others and isnt a "love triangle" type of movie at all really... maybe a "rebound love" movie if something like thats exists. Its defo worth watching.
