Actually, it was £602. Please don't exaggerate.

Funny as hell though.

WOW! That's harsh?

I thought saying - 'JUST OVER £600' - would have been accurate enough use of words to describle £602, LOL!

It's shot up to £747! This film is a credit to the British film industry. I wonder how much funding they got for this travesty.

reply

Watching a clip of it, I wonder how it even managed to earn that much. Clearly anybody who contributed to its Box Office takings didn't preview any of it before paying for a ticket.

reply

Do they take into account people who asked for their money back?!

reply

Apparently it took took a massive £67 in its first weekend

reply

Lol!!! It was a front page headline on the Sky news website. When I saw it I really did laugh out loud!!!!

You Just Brought A Gun To A Bomb Fight, Officer!!!

reply

According to the latest press release it has "massively increased it's early box office take, turning it's fortune around", whatever that means.

Supposedly it's due to increased bookings for special "senior" screenings until the middle of April.

reply

Presumably the "special senior screenings" are being offered at a vastly reduced rate as golden oldie/silver screen showings often are (and sometimes supply tea/coffee/biscuits to the audience} so even if it's showing until mid April it's going to have to fill the cinema repeatedly to come near the thousand pound mark.

It's very vague isn't it? It's "vastly increased" its takings, but to what figure? If it really was significant I think they'd tell us instead of being coy.

reply

what have the poor old people done to deserve that

reply

I think it mens Ray Cooney has paid for a 3rd rate PR company out of his own pocket to plant stories that it wasn't as big a flop as everyone said as he has roped a lot of personal friends in to make cameos and made them look very stupid indeed by being part of "the biggest Brit film flop of all time". I'm sure the poor guy is absolutely mortified!

You stay classy, San Diego.... I'm Ron Burgundy?

reply

No, CurtisDark, he won't be 'mortified'. Having had some professional dealings with Mr Cooney, I can assure you that he is unembarrassable (is that a word? Well, it is now.)
