Pointless

I kept waiting for something to happen.

The only thing I got out of it - was when Eric encountered the bear.

The bear didn't attack him, so maybe it's demonstrating it's not his time to die?

The younger brother with the plastic between him and the other kid in mock kissing was weird. I dunno, but 'art' or not, movies are for entertainment.

ENTERTAIN!

I stopped at 25 minutes and give up.
My fault I suppose.

"I kept waiting for something to happen".
That's the best way to describe how I felt during the movie.
I watched it 'til the end.
Never get it.
And BTW, why is Ian's father so look-alike the boys' father? That confuses me even more.
Well, I was hiding my smiling face, as they suggest.

I watched all of it and ended up playing with apps on my phone. It was just a boring few days with some boring kids in a boring place. Considering it got 6+ I guess I missed something. How did it get passed a first reading ?

"I watched all of it and ended up playing with apps on my phone"

Well, no, you clearly didn't bloody watch it all then.

I found it boring and slow and read at the same time

I detest this widespread belief that moves are for entertainment only. What absolute nonsense. What duty does art have to entertain? None whatsoever.
Sure, it can, but the expectation for it always to do so undermines the need for excellent films like this: films that confront us and make us question ourselves and our world.

I found this film to be interesting.
In response to "films are for entertainment", most people in the industry are well versed in the various types of films; the general public may be or not, for instance a documentary or training film vs "Raiders of the Lost Ark" - the quality of the film and the care that went into it has nothing to do with the intended audience.

This film intrigued me because I found no conflict resolution, we are left with making assumptions. For example, what happened after the boys discovered Ian? What happened after the cinder block incident? Was Daisy eventually killed? Was Ian's father the pet-killer, hence his telling Ian no one should know he possessed the pistol? Why is Tristan suicidal?
This film definitely made me think more than would most films.
