Was Jeanne (Kristin Scott Thomas) supposed to be English?

I don't know French well enough to know whether Kristin Scott Thomas spoke with an English accent or passed as French. The character did refer to a relative in Yorkshire. On the other hand, Jeanne is obviously a French name, so...

I don't think it's important but since Scott Thomas has s slight accent when she speaks French, it was probably meant to explain it. But the couple teacher/art gallery manager was sometimes more conceptual than real and it's very "Ozon" to work with blurry stories.
