Why was the music score so familiar?

It was used in the trailer, beyond that I'm not sure

Because it is very reminiscent of Bernard Hermann's compositions for Hitchcock's Psycho, Vertigo and North by Northwast-- the repetitive violin and cello arpeggios at moments of dramatic tension.
