Main theme seems strongly influenced by Philip Glass

For a moment there, I thought maybe Glass himself had been involved in the production.

Phillip glass to me is the greatest contemporary composer and has created many scores for films such as the hours, koyaanisqatsi and the thin blue line with certain repetitive structures derived from Indian ragas.. yes it had some resemblance to certain pieces he created but that is for him being this influential on the next generation I think. The composer who made the main theme for this movie happens to be named Philippe Rombi. The piano parts remind me of Satie. Anyway I enjoyed the movie and the music as well. I don't know what's up with this reaction above me. If you liked the soundtrack you might have the desire to look up who he is talking about and if not then leave it. The name is enough as reference, you are just two clicks away from comparing the two.

Thanks, SmoothHector.

No, I wasn't trying to be artsy-fartsy.
I thought the name Philip Glass was very widely recognized (especially if you add the term "the main theme," which, in films, very often refers to the musical score).

I responded to a different post on this board, that the score reminded me of Bernard Herman's compositions for Hitchcock's Psycho, Vertigo and North by Northwest, with the repetitive violin and cello arpeggios to complement scenes of dramatic tension. But, yes, I was thinking of Philip Glass too, and those orchestral, fluid, perpetual variations of a scale. But Glass suggests motion, Hermann suggests tension, and because of the similarities, Glass may have been inspired by Hermann.

And please don't apologize because you're not discussing silly crap, like something wasn't realistic enough, or so like the French this or that, or who's a homo. There's room here too for discussions about the art of film too!
