Hilarious to hear Disney preach to us about "greed..."

...as it shoves a 2-hour commercial in our faces that plugs every Disney franchise imaginable. They even panned over a poster of "The Black Hole." Puh-leeze, people.

My people skills are fine. It's my tolerance of morons that needs work.

Hilarious to hear you complain after you plunked down your cash to see it. Hey, you know that song "Circle of Life"?

reply

Didn't plunk a penny. Checked it out at the library. You were saying?

reply

Smart a$$, good for nothing kids who are always teaching parents how to be adults. Real Steel is another steaming pile.

reply

Yep....you should see how they (Disney) replaced American IT workers with H1-B foreigners to save $$....they even made the Americans train their replacements or they would forfeit severance pay.

reply

they even made the Americans train their replacements or they would forfeit severance pay.

Sort of like the Japanese in WWII, who forced American prisoners to dig their own graves before murdering them and throwing them in.

reply

Don't get it twisted. That was a LONG time ago and this is now. Two wrongs don't make a right dude! And don't try your straw man garbage on us. Disney is selling our American workers for cheap labor and it's WRONG!

reply

Beats me where the hell you're going with that.

reply

So getting severance pay is the same as getting shot without digging a grave? That was a horrible analogy.

reply

I came here to post just what johnchi1 said

reply

The Black Hole was another ambitious box office failure...prophetic.

reply

...it was about apathy...not greed.
But okay, that doesn't really fit your agenda so let's just pick up one of the minor themes to focus on, shall we? They also preached about conservation for two hours. What a bunch of losers...

And yet you watched it anyway.

I remember when the live action version of Grinch came out with Jim Carrey. I neither like Jim Carrey nor live action adaptations of animated children's films, especially ones that are highly commercial and preach about not letting commercialism ruin your holiday.

And you know what? I didn't go see it. I didn't buy the DVD, I didn't rent the VHS, nor do I intend to stream it nor purchase the bluray because I think it's a highly stupid and commercial film that has no business being.

Maybe you might consider the same thing next time when you come across an offensive film. Maybe not.

p.s. I did catch part of Grinch on broadcast, and couldn't stomach watching it.

Greed was but a tiny footnote in the rant about how the world is going down the tubes. There were plenty of other relevant points that even a big corporation is entitled to make; it seems churlish to single out just ONE...

"Your mother puts license plates in your underwear? How do you sit?!"

reply

Lot of homeless vets on street corners preaching the same thing.

How often do you listen to them? That's what I thought. Turns out poor people who preach about greed have terrible marketing. Perhaps, and this is just an idea, we should appreciate it when a mega-conglomerate speaks on their behalf.
