Yes, even though it was made before with the title of the novel, "A Very British Coup," in the late '80s (probably as a result the Thatcher era), it still was not the BBC even then, was it?

However, no mystery there--in "A Very British Coup" there was a BBC official who was one of the co-conspirators! One of the evil empire group! haha

Not going to be produced on BBC then. OOPS

Also Channel 4 did the first one, I think....

It did seem time for a reboot after the 2008 banking crisis--a good novel to adapt and use as inspiration after that particular event.

Glad they gave it a go. Again. The first version around 1988 or so t was absolutely brilliant--have seen it at least twice.
