What was up with that ending scene with the characters saulting their grandparents?
What was up with the old man in bed at the end talking nonsense?
It appears that the final scene, where they toast their mothers and grandmothers was outside the story of "Lilyhammer". I think it was just Stevie and the others' way of expressing their own personal viewpoint.
The earlier part (within the story) about passing down family recipes is a very emotional one for all those who have seen many of the older (immigrant) ways disappear. Anyone who still has his grandmother's recipes has a treasure that cannot be measured in dollars. They are central to a way of life that now exists in the memories of their children's children.
