How Popular Is Lilyhammer in Norway and Elsewhere in Europe?

Lillyhammer is a hoot!

Frankie owns just about every dim-wit in town and if the show continues he'll own every dim-wit in Norway!

How popular is this most bizarre "fish....fisk....out of water" show in Norway and the rest of Europe?

reply

Interesting Question.

I'm from Germany and i know just three people who watch it.

reply

Pretty popular in Sweden but so are many other shows. Not really a wide range of televsion here.

reply

Watching in Ireland, most people haven't heard of it. Some have seen it on Nextflix and say they might watch it sometime.

reply

They play it on tv randomly here. Popular being subjective in Sweden. Netflix Scandinavia has it showing as popular in this region. Of course netflix isnt as advertised here as it should be. Orange is the new black never got coverage for season 2.

First episode from season 1 had almost one million viewers in Norway, wich is considered alot in a country With 5 million People. The show has continued to have generally high volume of viewers in Norway. Season 3 has so far had less views. Could be because the Whole season 3 was released on web tv from the opening of season 3 here in Norway.

The show has been sold to over 130 countries.

Liilyhammer is a Netflix series from day one dude. You're sadly misinformed.

reply

The series is commissioned by NRK1 from Norwegian Rubicon TV AS, in association with Netflix and German-owned distributor Red Arrow International.

In Cod we trust.

I'm in the Netherlands and I love this show. Steve is awesome. This is better than The Sopranos.

I am from Finland and was introduced to the show by my children one week ago. I think the series has been mentioned in our local papers and got good ratings. Finns are usually very interested in foreigners telling about Finland and Scandinavia. And since Lilyhammer also contains one Finnish minority, the Sami (the original people of Lapland which Finland, Norway and Sweden share)it is even more interesting. I would think it could be very popular, if shown subtitled in Finnish on TV .

Im from Spain, love the show and its humor. The only thing pissing me off sometimes is franks attitude, but i guess that comes with the character ^^

500,000 viewers is 10 percent of Norway. That is pretty huge.

reply

It is also pretty popular in Denmark.
