Great movie, until the end.

It is almost like they either ran out of money or ideas, because it felt like the movie just cut off. They could of pushed the end a little further in either direction, but instead it just ended.

I just watched this and thought the exact same thing.

Ending was kinda dumb.

Yep. The ending completely ruined it. They built it up so much and just fell completely flat at the last minute.

Despite how some people here are choosing to interpret it here, the movie spelled out pretty clearly that it was not just a scary game. There were way too many unexplained impossible things happening to them for it to all have been just a haunted house prank.

and so...what happened to that horde of genuinely creepy looking people that kept impossibly showing up out of nowhere to terrorize them? Why in the world would they build that up for 80 minutes just to have some random dudes in skull masks bury them just because? I think OP is right. They just ran out of money or couldn't figure out how to end it and tried to pass it off as "oooh another mysterious ambiguous ending! deep!".

Those random dudes in skull masks were associates of the genuinely creepy looking people that kept impossibly terrorizing them.

It was a group of haunters. They were all linked up together and kept track of the rv group as they visited each haunt.

Remember, the group got much of their information on where to go next from recommendations on the internet. It wouldn't take much effort to lure the RV group to whatever haunt they want them to go to next online.

I mean, think about it. An RV of adults traveling around searching for extreme haunts is not quite that common (although I think it should be - sounds fun!) I can imagine the group of haunters really taking notice of this and tipping each other off as to where the RV group is headed next.

And as the final "nail in the coffin" so to speak, they provided the group with what they were looking for: the ultimate extreme haunt experience.

Whether you believe the RV group lived or died during the extreme haunt is contingent on how crazy you think the members of the haunt group were. But, you can't knock them for giving the RV group exactly what they were looking for.

^^^^The only good post in this thread. I don't get why the most offensive thing in a movie today is a little mystery. I loved not having closure to this flick. I was waiting almost for a modern day "April Fools Day" reveal and it never came. The point where they black out at it's darkest moment before anyone was officially seen to be dead left me in dread. There was a glimmer of hope but mostly a dark feeling that there worst nightmares were realized. It was a great ending to a great movie that I believed actually delivered on it's clever premise.
