While it is uncontrollable to stop people from downloading and making copies of the video, why didn't they just erase it from Cloud to prevent more people from seeing it and download??

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound presumptuous.
In the movie, there is a scene where the main character is told that he could have simply erased the video from the cloud and it would get deleted on every device.
So yes, they could have just erased the video but didn't think about it.

Thanks, I do recalled that part, but it took place much later in the movie, so I though the husband was just sayying that so the wife could get a good night sleep, especially by then he had pin-pointed the kid and collected most of the iPads.
It is ture of what you said, lots of people owning iPhones ands iPad with all these fancy features, only to find them texting each other in Starbucks. They could have just get a Chinese-made pad for a quater the value.

I'll bet Segel's character didn't know much about this technology to begin with. Remember he didn't realize he could've remote control wiped the tapes from the other iPads until Howard mentioned it? Shows he isn't very bright.
