Proof This Was Pointless

Thought this was really funny. Read the IMDB plot description.

A married couple wake up to discover that the sex tape they made the evening before has gone missing, leading to a frantic search for its whereabouts.

IMDB couldn't even describe the actual plot of the movie, which would've read something like: A married couple wake up to discover that the sex tape they filmed on an iPad is also on the iPads they gave away at that party because Jason Segel's character works as in the radio business and gets free iPads to give away to friends. Phew.

Further proof this should've been made in 1998 when people still used VHS and not when every video is digital.

All pure comedies are pointless… Making a point is for dramas.

Suspension of disbelief is about accepting the premise for the sake of a few potential laughs. You're taking things too literally.

You don't find the mental gymnastics the writers of this movie had to pull the least bit funny?

reply

I wasn't watching for plot… All I wanted was a couple of laughs, which it gave me. If you didn't find any of it amusing, then I can see why you wouldn't appreciate it. There are movies that are meant to 'make sense' all the way through, but this isn't one of them.

Didn't some movie similar where the sex tape is returned to the video store get made a few years back? What was that called?

All I can think of that fits what you've described is SOUTH PARK episode 'The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers' season 6 episode 13, BUT I could be wrong
