What to make of this...(trailer thoughts)

This is obviously a low budget film so with that in mind it's unfair to judge it solely on production values.

That said, I think these guys are pushing their luck a little by using a camera meant for stills. It just about works but the picture is oversaturated seemingly from post effects to compensate for the lack of colour depth in the original picture. Many shots are just plain too dark - was even any basic lighting used?

This doesn't really gel with the subject matter which seems to be generally light hearted and fun.

I was unsure whether or not to comment on the effects shots. In a lot of ways I feel it would have been better to come up with a creative way to avoid the need for effects shots like that by using simpler practical effects.

Bigger films than this have done so in the past, including many of the films that inspired the makers to produce this.

There were a few issues with the trailer editing (hint: don't use shots with actors mouths moving without the attached audio) but overall it looks like it could be fun.

Wish these guys the best of luck but I think with films like these it all comes down to polish and timing. There's a very fine line between a good enjoyable budget comedy and forgettable budget comedy.
