One of our best composers

Shame most people have forgotten what a great musical genus he is.

Agreed, but sadly it seems to be the fate of most songwriters (and film composers, for that matter). They're in vogue for their season, but even people like Burt Bacharach went out of style and got largely forgotten.

One thing I loved from this documentary was learning that although Paul may not be writing any more, he hasn't just faded away.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

His life one day will make a GREAT B'way play. Just the casting would be interesting.

Except he's not a composer, doh!

He's a lyricist, he doesn't write tunes or do arrangements.

It's kind of weird, he's the Bernie Taupin of an Elton John type pairing, yet Paul is the celebrity while his composers stay well known mainly within the industry.

Paul Williams is absolutely wonderful and quite a talent ~

And although he often was a member of a songwriting team, he has also written musical arrangements ~
