There should be a Paul Williams night on American Idol!

YES!!!
Until seeing this doc, I forgot how many truly great songs Williams has penned.
Great idea.

Hmmm, I have very mixed feelings on that idea, missyrae.

On one hand: yes, because I love Paul Williams' songs;
but on the other: absolutely no, because I'm really not a fan of the style of singing on Idol, and I think they'd simply oversing the songs to death.

(It'd be as bad as Mariah Carey's far-too-fussy version of Harry Nilsson's "Without You".)



You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

I think "American Idol" is horrible, and Paul Williams' legacy is just fine without stooping to that low, if you'll pardon the pun. "American Idol" fans are free to seek out his music if they want, but I suspect most of them aren't interested.
