Hunt for the I-5 Killer ~ one STRANGE movie

Who would cast this fellow Corbett in the lead role?
I've never seen or heard of him before??? {I know he has a history on IMDb, but he's 'new' to me!}
Must be a friend of the producer/director/whatever {just like they add Bo Derek, Corbett's real-life lady, to a detective role}.
Corbett is one 'unusual' actor in this movie ~ he just looked out of place in almost all his scenes, not to mention he was almost ripping out of his sports jacket in most, too!
His acting skills are NOT very good, to be polite!
Emotion? He has NONE.
There's a few strange parts, too: one minute, the rape victims' having dinner with Corbett and his family...the next scene, she's screaming at him in the police station for not getting the I-5 killer sooner.
It's a strange one, all the way around.
I'd give it a 5 at best...
'You can't HANDLE the truth!'

He played Chris Stevens in the TV show "Northern Exposure". He was the man who ran the radio station in the show. He did a bunch of movies, including some "B" grade Science Fiction stuff in the late 90's. he also played that a-hole Norman Calder whose building Tommy Lee Jones knocked down to channel the lava in "Volcano"

You can peruse his resume to jog your memory, but I agree he was miscast in this. He's great in some things a little lighter, though, and was amazing on No. Expo. Actors have strengths and weaknesses like any other professionals. I am sure Lifetime was stoked to get a name actor to play the role. Did you see the guy that was supposed to have been a football player for the Green Bay Packers?!? This film is Gone With The Wind compared to a Lifetime movie I saw a few weeks ago about a blind girl that outsmarts two escaped cons in her house during a blizzard. It was like Home Alone, Blind. But very dramatic, which made it even better.

yea he was in northern exposure and my big fat greek wedding.

that scene where he got all pissed off and i think threw something was funny.

as a matter of fact, i think all the scenes where he was supposed to be angry didn't seem to go so well. not very convincing.

He's most well known to me as Aidan in Sex and the City. I think he's a great actor and does well in this role.
