Has the sexes been reveresed

The spouse would have had their partners stuff packed and changed the locks. but since its a woman who ran off for a week the husband is happy he was "chosen" when she finally decided to go back home.

Wholeheartedly agree. The women in these types of movie seem to always get a pass for their behavior. She takes off not telling her husband and ignores his calls. There was absolutely no excuse for the way she treated him. He definitely should have changed the locks and tossed out her clothes. Let her go back to frog guy and live to regret the decision she made to treat her husband the way she did. It's so annoying to see husbands let their spouses get away with this kind of stuff without any repercussions. I would have preferred to see the movie continue for a bit longer and have her explain herself to her husband and plead for forgiveness. It would have made for a more interesting ending listening to her explain what she did and why she treated him that why. It would have been interesting to hear how she justified what she did instead of talking to him beforehand about any perceived problems she had with their marriage and just taking off.

What I don't get is this type of excuse for the woman is rampant with female writers because lets be honest they don't care about the guys. But the kicker for me is some of these films are written by men who do the same thing. The bottom line is sometimes MONEY. Women will buy this stuff and guys won't. And there you have it.

I also feel the game is changing slowly but surely as even some females are starting to realize they don't feel they have to go with the norm. Notice how Rom-coms with the bad husband or fiancee are on a steep decline.

One last thought, there are many women whom may understand and are mature enough to know one should not give up so selfishly/easily on a good man. But of course they are ignored also.
