One of the better endings for this type of drama.

As I watched this on Netflix streaming movies, and got to the last 15 minutes when several issues were coming together, I thought to myself what might be good ways to end this and the writer-director really came through.

In this type of story it is easy to take the side of the female protagonist, assume her husband doesn't appreciate her, that she deserves better, and her old boyfriend "never broke up with her." But the ending bridges onto her dad's account of the two types of missles used in combat. The unspoken advice was "don't be a ballistic missile" and just blindly stay on the trajectory you start out on. Keep the target in focus. So she and her husband may have hit a stale patch, reading her parents' letters from way back made her realize it changes for everyone. Breaking up with her old boyfriend and going home was the only good way this story could have ended. I commend the filmmaker for a meaningful story with a good ending.
