I can't be the only one who dislikes Kristine

I mean every time she shows up I can't help but roll my eyes. Here we go, Kristine acting all clingy like she owns Charlie now because they shared a weird experience. I havn;t seen the new episode yet, so i don't know if she's still in her coma, but i'm kind of hoping either she'll wake up and just kind of leave the show, or that she'll die and move on and find peace with her dead daughter. That sounds really mean, but that's how much I can't stand her

You do realize that you're more than a season behind..USA is showing season 2 and Canada is well into season 4. With that said, Id suggest that you either DL all the eps like i did to catch up or stay away from these boards because there are spoilers you may not want to know.

The OP is referring to a Season 4 character and storyline. They may only be an episode or two behind.

I'm in season 4, I was only an episode away from the new episode when i posted this.

@halhopandpop I don't hate her either, I just find that they could have really used her to help Charlie understand his 'abilitiy' better and together, but instead they went down the clingy, almost stalker like road. Maybe they can redeem that if she ever wakes up.

Agreed. I don't like that she sprung that meeting on him, but that would have been a good chance to talk things over and learn more about ghosts. Instead Charlie was defensive, and reasonably so because of the surprise guest. And we may never get an explanation about what their connection was all about.

Its unfortunate, but this isnt a scifi series. The writers are determined not to explore the specifics of Charlie's gift. An example of their mindset was when Alex convinced Charlie to do "real doctoring" by not using his gift. Thats like a blind person telling a sighted person that sight is a curse and they should go blindfolded for "normal" living! Any real doctor would find the input given by disembodied spirits to be invaluable - as Charlie has found time and again.

I don't hate her, but certainly don't like her. She comes across as very needy and desperate. I know she has a sad history but she's trying a bit too hard to make sense of things and has crossed the line multiple times with Charlie.

Her brain tumor is most likely contributing to her depression. We'll see if her character and ghost sticks around, if she has surgery and whether that helps her.

No, I can't stand her, either.

They really ruined a great chance, IMO, to write in a character who could work alongside Charlie since Alex didn't want any part of the ghost-thing. I was hoping for some cool stories bringing in Christine's experience with ghosts, and some growth and development in Charlie's gift because of her---but instead they went with clingy, no-boundaries alkie nut.
Why even create her at all...?

Excerpt from an interview with Michael Shanks, question regarding the character of Kristine:

"MS: The way that that storyline kind of kneaded out was a little bit odd, and I’m still trying to come to terms with what it was all about. I think her story is a bit of a cautionary tale for Charlie. It’s sort of a parallel person that has this same ability but went down a different path, a more self-destructive path. He has the opportunity to choose to go down that path or not, and she is demonstrative of an alternate route that he could have taken and still could."

She is certainly a walking cautionary tale. Still kind of a shame they went with that.

I have had this fantasy that they'd someday read the other docs in on Charlie's incredibly helpful abilities and turn Hope Zion into a miraculous place of healing (even moreso than it already is lol.)

Yeah, I keep wondering if/when more characters will find out about Charlie. That could go in all sorts of directions.

I like the concept of the character as it would be nice for Charlie to have both support and someone to talk to, but no, I don't like the way Christine is being written! I wish Alex would be a little more involved in Charlie's gift. The season 4 Christmas episode would have been the perfect place for an actual conversation and not just a - yes, I know you helped - type of comment. I would also love to see a comment about Charlie seeing a certain dead person that is important to Alex..... Since she now believes even though it might freak her out, they are missing out on a storyline that most people who watch this type of show would probably like??????
