Used this film to get my son excited about Lacrosse

My son is 8. I wouldn't recommend the film for that age group (players are HS students, so lots of sexual innuendo), but I would recommend it for anyone who wants to see a good, straight-up "underdog" sports film. However, the film was indigenous made, so the content of the film is more culturally accurate than others made about indigenous life.

The leads, however - meh. Not even my 8-year-old was buying Routh as half Native American. He even said "That guy is supposed to be Iroquois? He doesn't look it." We asked him to use his imagination a bit more and try to see him as half-European and half-Native American.

Once "Maug" (Aaron Pintrup) came on the scene, though, my son was all into it. And he was really rooting for Jimmy Silverfoot (Tyler Hill) too. Those two players got my son ALL excited about his first lacrosse clinic coming up this week.

So, thank you, Steve Rash, Brad Riddell and Todd Baird for an enjoyable underdog sports film about a lesser-known sport with an interesting history inserted into the story.
