Well, there are physics labs working on cloaking devices right now which 'bend' light around an object so you see what is behind it, but not the thing itself.

Art and reality often play off of each other. Writers sometimes extrapolate from published scientific research to create interesting science fiction.
And sometimes scientists are inspired by things they see in the movies to research and invent things.

Time travel is a theoretical possibility. We just don't have the tech to do it now (as far as we know anyway).
Einstein said that speeding something up to the speed of light would slow time down relative to other objects; in effect it would move backward in time.

Tech has advanced so far so fast in my lifetime. Who can say what will be possible in the future?
