as a chinese person i find this to be pretty stupid documentary sure it had some good areas like how people understood the significance of chuck norris getting his ass kick but seriiously, why couldn't they just make it a bruce lee documentary/tribute like the other ones

i.e talk him up and thats it, instead of retards who THINK they know what they are talking about

like that loser british guy saying JEET KEUN DO is american

*beep* you it is you stupid pom, all the intercepting concepts were in alot of wing-chun intercepts with the feet. If you say "big deal that proves nothing"

well i say kungfu is the MECCA of martial arts and dont' think its asian martial arts only but fighting in general you think there is not style that is parrying or intercepting and reacting only?? its in the hong kong movie 'kncok about' with yuen biao (one of jackie chans young martial art brothers)...a bad guy using a intercepting technique that can be used to intercept and parry punches and kicks.

all this grappling crap and wrestling ALL originated in china

in cantonese its called "jung gwok moon goo soot gar" chinese and mongolian wrestling, where punches kicks and grappling were acceptable

so MMA is rubbish, all styles used are pretty much taken from chinese kung fu, so this concept of fencing, boxing, all this was taken from western influence?? no its merely bruce trying to get an understanding of those things, frankly they are existed for millenia in kungfu

and to say that bruce would love to see UFC and MMA is insulting, yes he doesn't believe in traditions too much and hated fake self defence i.e martial art magazines that say 'step one step two' nonsense and fake competitions that can't be used in real life self defence

but he still believed in MARTIAL ARTS in general, in cantonese its called 'mo soot' a art you express with your body, its meaningful, kungfu is based on thousands of years of tradition, philosophy and culture...all MMA especially UFC is all just dumb steroid bound guys beating each other into a bloody pulp and attack a person on the ground like a pussy.

its EXACTLY like a school fight, make a few punches and kicks that is suppose to look pro then spear tackle them, then mount and hit them like a coward

Additionally all that stupid asian girl (probably japanese or korean) saying jabs and boxing in general was more realistic is stupid. It couldn't be use too affectively today effectively without modern views, but thats because perception hasn't evovled not because its rubbish

bruce failed using traditional methods fighting wong jak mun is not because wingchun was stupid or even irrelevant, but bruce didn't know how it should be perceived in the modern way i.e how a modern opponent would react

there's a guy called msater wong on youtube that uses wingchun and taichi and hasn't modified it really but expresses it in a way that its RELEVANT to todays way of thinking of how the opponent would attack you this day and age

plus the documentary that says 'fist of fury' aka big boss is actually

'chinese connection' aka big boss....do your research properly

chinese can't be in a leading role?? hey even chow yun fat didn't get to kiss the hot blonde in "the replacement killers", or jet li kiss miss fonda in 'kiss of the dragon', or some asian guy i saw in the 90's tv show 'charmed' no kissing but close ups of the lips but never touch...a fat white guy playing as cubid (because the show was about the supernatural beings) had a *beep* kissing role with alyssa milano, its just racism in white culture

bruce lee although his my idol, he was living a romantic dream, he was famous and had something to command respect i.e kungfu and he wasn't that short

try commanding respect even these days being a chinese person and being short....bruce was just lucky

spoke english well, reasonable size, dressed well, and had a charisma and skills to back him up, looking down on his own people is hardly something i'd respect, i bet he only did it because he had to protect his future, he was practically running from the law in HK....if he can't teach he has no money so he had no choice

Ok, let me get this straight!

You claim to be a Bruce Lee fan, a fan of a great man, philosopher and genius, and yet you ignore the fact that he was born in the USA, was one quarter german, that he had an american wife that he loved very much and that gave him 2 beautiful children, and that he was that much of a humanist that (asked if he was Chinese or North American) said: "You know what, I want to think of myself as a HUMAN BEING, because under the sky, under the heaven, man, there is but ONE FAMILY, it just so happened, man, that people are different..."...

You claim yourself to be a Bruce Lee fan and yet you ignore all these things, and come up here with your hatred, your racial pride, your moronic nationalism, and you insult your asian brothers and sisters, white people, black people, people that are long dead and gone, all in the name of your bigotry.

YOU didn't do one thing of the many great things the chinese people are known for, and YOU didn't suffer from the things other people have brought upon your homeland!! The only thing you do is spread your hatred, racism and nationalism and make the world a worse place than it already is, while Bruce Lee was all about making the world a better place, to spread love and understanding.

I am not american, and yes, the americans (and other countries) have brought pain upon my people as well, but do I go around and insult the young generations for what their great-great-grandfathers did? Is this like cardinal sin? Are they to blame for what their ancestors did??? Give every man and woman a chance, treat them with respect and according to their OWN actions, not the actions of the men that came before them!

You are a disgrace to the great people of China, and you are not even a true Bruce Lee fan, you are doing the exact opposite of what Lee would have wanted.

And no, by no means was he lucky. He had a god-given talent, and yet he trained and worked hard to get where he was. He didn't let himself down when he was sick, and when his back was killing him, he worked even harder. Nothing about that has anything to do with LUCK. But that is something that such a low-life like yourself will never understand.

Your idol would be proud...
