Holy! What a bad and predictable ending!

Why are the books so popular?
I never read them, but it was clear how the whole story is going to end from the moment that bomber bombed all the civilians, it was painfully obvious who did it. And even Catnyss plan to kill the female president was so obvious. The way she stood just behind the president Snow waiting for that arrow...
And the ending! A happy family with children and *beep* seriously!?
Soooooo bad. Did I watch another Twilight teenage crap show? Who rated this show that high? It's a 5 at the best.

There's nothing wrong with a story being predictable. Many mysteries are considered "great" if the viewer can piece together the clues & guess the killer. It doesn't detract from the story......

In another political thriller called 1984, it's obvious the protagonist & his girlfriend will be caught & brainwashed by the government, but that does not detract from that story either.

A happy family with children
====================
The children at the end are designed as a deliberate contrast to her line at the beginning, that she'll never have kids because she can't protect them. It's shorthand for the transformation of Panem to a more civilized state.

Artistically, it was a really stupid idea to split the book into two films. They ended up being overly long and boring. However, from a financial and profit-seeking view, I suppose it was a good idea.

The financial reasons are why they split it up to begin with...it was a cash cow for the studios. It was the same with The Hobbit.
