Toronto, Venice, New York Film Festivals

It's going to be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Venice Film Festival and the New York Film Festival!
This is rather very encouraging! If so many festivals are selecting it for their lineup, I believe that it must be good!

Yes, very encouraging indeed (looking forward to seeing it).

It seems that some critics who are not fans of Franco have not been open-minded in their assessment of this movie (as well as "As I Lay Dying", they hate on Franco more than actually reviewing the movies) but the fans of BOTH books and the general public who are open to seeing both, will totally be impressed and love it (as Franco appears to have undertaken what the books were aiming for).

"The movie is grotesque, at times sickening and often shocking, but it is rooted in genuine humanity and is easily one of the best movies of the year."

as a mccarthy fan I can honestly say no thanks to this movie LOL

If the direction is anything like As I Lay Dying, then it's to be avoided. A good actor but seriously, people should recognize their limitations.
