Poorly shot and very poorly directed.

The opening immediately takes me out of this film. The overly digital look of it doesn't fit the material at all. The rolling shutter artifacts of whatever GOD AWFUL DSLR camera they used is obvious and should be a decision that makes someone lose their job. (Was the DP a student??) Can't Franco use some of his millions to rent a damn Arri or shoot some S16mm?? The title fonts are amateur. The sets weren't dressed well in many scenes. The list goes on.

Free lesson to the DP and Franco: Shaky camera tricks, washing out your colors and long lenses aren't going to make poor directing and shot selection feel more intense or authentic.

Franco needs to give his ego a rest and stop making movies. He is a grown kid with money and unfortunately for us Hollywood members return his phone calls, plain and simple. NO TALENT HACKS BEHIND THE CAMERA NEED TO STOP TO MAKE ROOM FOR THOSE WHO DO HAVE REAL TALENT.
