Not impressed with Estella in this production. She's supposed to be gorgeous. Pip was more beautiful than she was.
That's exactly what I told my dad while we were watching this miniseries: "Estella is supposed to be beautiful, but Pip is prettier than she is!"

While the actress is attractive, Douglas/Pip was still prettier -Should've cast another actress as Estella

I thought she was distinctive and unlike any other woman in the film. She is supposed to be different, it is the difference that makes her memorable.
I have seen three other versions of Great Expectations and this is the only one where the guy looks more attractive than the girl. Even the girls at the party who were interested in Pip looked more prettier than Estella.

Agreed. Neither Young Estella or Adult Estella were pretty. It was actually a bit of a distraction.

Pip was beyond good looking. This or any Estella (for that matter) was going to look inferior to him which is an odd thing to say but there you are.
I thought Ioan Gruffudd was handsome too but not in the way this Pip was.
Estella looks grouchy and angry :-), and mean too, like the mean step sister of Cinderella.

AGREED!!!! A far more beautiful actress should have been chosen. That way both actors could compliment each other better.
