So the parents were worse than Jack

Keeping Zoe and Kansas prisoner to protect their dirty secret.

And what WAS their secret? I didn't get it. That they were psychopaths? Like someone else said, they couldn't have gotten away with keeping them locked up because their parents would be looking for them. And if they kept killing people, where were they burying them, and why did no one notice all these people disappearing? There were things I liked about the movie, but all in all, it didn't make a lot of sense.

Agreed, I figured the parents were okay with jacks behavior, even medicating the younger children so they could deal with him, or making it a game with the dragon, but Zoey mentioned that her parents are strict. My mom was strict and even called the police when I was 30 mns late once, I was never late again. Obviously they killed the girl from across the street and at first I figured that was Soey's fate too, but then the last scene was confusing.

I agree a lot did not make sense.
